Weekly Rewind: rovers in pole position

A thriller between Altitude and Langley sees TSS Rovers take top spot in the title race, after their big midweek win against Burnaby.

Proving their worth

Unity’s tie on Wednesday meant Altitude secured the title for 2025, and a 1-0 win against Langley United on Sunday set the scene for their trophy presentation. Chloe van Schalkwyk scored her first goal of the season to move her side onto 40 points with one game of the season remaining.

The day before, Nanaimo United secured their fourth win of 2025 with a 2-0 victory at Evolution. The hosts had tied 1-1 on Wednesday but could not make it an unbeaten week as Alex Paul and Ava Alexander secured the points for the visitors.

Elsewhere, Unity made it two 1-1 ties in a matter of days as they failed to beat Kamloops away from home. Cara Freeman opened the scoring for the bottom side, but Abigail Anderson equalized in the 62nd minute to move the visitors to within three points of the runners-up spot.

Losing ground

It was pure entertainment at Kinsmen Field on Sunday as Altitude beat title-chasing Langley 4-3 in the Men’s Division. A Tyreese Meas brace, and goals from Carson Buschman-Dormand and Oliver Herbert, handed Langley just their third defeat of 2025 and a crucial one in the title race.

The thriller was a dream result for TSS Rovers as they remain two points clear at the summit with two games left. Their 7-1 midweek drubbing of Burnaby, who looked like early title contenders, showed that they have no desire to slow down as the end of the season approaches.

Evolution had a Saturday to remember, following up their 2-2 tie against Unity in midweek by beating Nanaimo 3-1 at home to claim their fourth win of 2025. Hamish Ogden opened the scoring from the spot in the 16th minute, before Ebi Igali and Mateo Brazinha made it 3-0 with 25 minutes remaining. Michael Hepelle got one back for the visitors, but it was not enough to stage a comeback.

Finally, Kamloops and Unity played out a 1-1 on Saturday evening, as Dante Colebourne-Urcuyo’s opener was cancelled out by a Dylan Hooper equalizer for Kamloops in the second minute of injury time.
