2025 Road to Victory: High-flying Altitude soared to success
Read about Altitude’s path to winning the Women’s Division in emphatic fashion.

Altitude were crowned champions of the League1 BC Women’s Division in style, winning 14 out of their 16 games and conceding only nine goals.
The team were formed in 2021 and had struggled to find form in their first three years, never finishing in the top half of the table, but head coach Jesse Symons was brought in for the 2025 season to try to turn their fortunes around.
The effect was immediate: Altitude won their first nine games on the bounce, starting the streak with a last-minute winner against Vancouver Rise Academy.
The Vancouver academy team (formerly Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite) had won the previous three iterations of the league and were also coming off successive League1 Canada Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship titles.
It was an incredible start to the season and showed the grit and determination of Altitude as back-to-back strikes late in the first half had cancelled out their early two-goal lead.
The momentum carried on from there as they would go on to win their next eight games by a combined goal difference of 30-4.
By the halfway point of the season, the 24-point haul had already eclipsed any points total accrued by Altitude before, and Symons’ side had already beaten reigning champions Vancouver Rise twice.
Altitude would hit their first hurdle against Unity in June as an 84th-minute winner from Charity Field was enough to topple the table toppers for the first time all season.
The pressure was on for Altitude to regain their stride, but just two games later they would drop points in a tie against TSS Rovers.
After this wake-up call Altitude were immaculate winning their final four games with a combined score of 10-0, emphasizing the strength of the defence that had been evident all year.
The success didn’t end there for the club, as the excellent performance of the women’s team soaring to the title, combined with the men’s team only finishing six points off the top of their division, saw Altitude win the Juan de Fuca Plate.
The plate is awarded to the team with the most combined points between the men’s and the women’s team and the spectacular season left them 13 points clear of second place.
It was undoubtedly an incredible season, from which Altitude will only look to grow in 2026.
