Applications open for League1 BC Operations Manager
League1 Canada are seeking a new leader to manage day-to-day operations of British Columbia’s Pro-Am soccer league.
Vancouver, BC – (September 26, 2024) – Recruitment has begun for the new Operations Manager of League1 BC, with Canadian Soccer Business welcoming applications from experienced soccer professionals to take the Pro-Am competition into its next phase of growth.
The Operations Manager will oversee and manage the day-to-day business of L1BC, including directing and overseeing the allocation of resources, providing strategic direction and coordination, and driving the competition’s continued development.
This new opportunity follows the departure of Stuart Neely, who stepped down from the role of General Manager after the 2024 season. He, and the competition’s inaugural General Manager Sian Bagshawe, have helped to create a promising platform for the next leader of the province’s Pro-Am game.
John Gibson, Interim General Manager at League1 Canada, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for a sports professional to have a direct and positive impact in the growth of British Columbia’s soccer scene ahead of the men’s FIFA World Cup coming to Canadian shores in 2026.
“We have already seen success regionally, nationally, and internationally from players and clubs involved with League1 BC, and the new Operations Manager will be able to work on developing those pathways while helping to grow the game through the League1 Canada alliance.”
