League1 BC to kick off on April 4

The 2025 season will start in early April at Swangard Stadium and run through to the end of July.

TSS Rovers will host League1 BC debutants Evolution FC in the first games of the 2025 season, as these two sides go head-to-head in a doubleheader at Swangard Stadium.

The women’s teams will kick off at 6pm, followed by the men’s squads at 8:30pm, and it will be the first time Evolution will take to the field after they were created from Coquitlam Metro-Ford.

The newcomers face no easy task against TSS Rovers who reached last season’s Women’s Division Playoffs, and won both the Men’s Division regular season and final.

Later that week, on April 6, Altitude host Whitecaps FC Academy in the Men’s Division, and a new Vancouver Rise Academy team aiming to keep the Women’s Division title on their home soil.

The Northern Super League club has a close relationship with Whitecaps FC Girls Elite, and moving forward in League1 BC under the Rise brand further enhances the pathway from the Pro-Am level to the professional game.

The following week sees home matches for Burnaby, two rebranded clubs in Nanaimo United (formerly Harbourside) and Kamloops United (formerly Rivers), and the two Vancouver sides. All eight matches will take place in a bumper day of action on April 12, which will see Langley United make their league debut as they are the visitors to Hillside Stadium in Kamloops.

Unity and Langley are set to host their first League1 BC matches of 2025 at the end of April, with Evolution making their home debut in early May. The two expansion clubs will both welcome the two Vancouver teams as their first visitors.

Four matches in each division are currently scheduled for the final week of the season, concluding with Unity hosting Nanaimo United – two teams who finished a point apart in the 2024 Men’s Division and either side of the playoff line.

Unity finished second in last year’s Women’s Division standings, losing out to a finals spot via a dramatic penalty shootout that followed Burnaby’s 81st-minute equalizer in the playoffs. The replay of this matchup at Cloverdale Athletic Park is planned for June 7.

Who could also forget the five-goal thriller we saw in the 2024 Men’s Division Final? The replay between TSS Rovers and Altitude will take place on May 7 in the first midweek matchup of the year.
