Weekend Preview: A chance at the title

After claiming first place in the Men’s Division, Langley United are aiming to retain top spot, while Altitude could mathematically wrap up the Women’s Division.

First vs fourth

Altitude continue their title hunt in the Women’s Division this weekend as they face TSS Rovers in one of four games this Saturday. The runaway leaders beat Evolution 6-0 on Wednesday, and they can move a step closer to wrapping up the title if they overcome a TSS side sitting just outside the top three.

Behind them in second, Vancouver Rise Academy travel to Nanaimo United. They currently sit six points away from top spot after playing the same number of games, and with three matches remaining, they will need Altitude to drop points this weekend to stay in the race.

Third-placed Unity are also in action, hosting Langley United. The home side are still in with a chance of challenging the top two as they are five points away from second but with two games in hand.

A win here would move them onto 26 points and keep them alive in the title race, but if they drop points against Langley and Altitude beat TSS, the crown will go to Altitude.

Burnaby also host Kamloops United with both sides looking to find some consistent form to finish this season. The visitors have struggled so far and are searching for their second win of 2025.

Making it count

Langley United returned to first place in the Men’s Division last week and are looking to extend their advantage on Saturday. They travel to a Unity side who have been in the bottom half for most of the season and have been struggling for wins lately.

Behind Langley, TSS Rovers could reclaim top spot with a win against Altitude. The hosts had been in first for quite some time this year but have since become the hunters instead of the hunted. Altitude are only two points behind their opponents, and three points from the top, so this game is a crucial one and should be entertaining.

Evolution managed to secure a point against Altitude in midweek, but are out of action on Saturday. However, Vancouver Whitecaps Academy ahead of them do have a game against Nanaimo United, a team still without a win in 2025. The top four are running away but a win for the visitors would move them onto 16 points with Kamloops.

Kamloops could reclaim their three-point advantage later in the day, though, if they beat Burnaby. The latter are the home side and are still well within the fight at the top of the standings. A win for Burnaby would move them onto 25 points, and if results elsewhere go their way, into the top two or three.
