WEEKend preview
It could be a season-defining weekend for Altitude FC and Whitecaps FC Girls Elite.

Rovers welcome Burnaby
TSS Rovers FC’s Women’s Division playoff spot is in their grasp with games in hand on the teams around them. Three points against Burnaby will help them take a significant step to securing their postseason place, and also crown Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy as the regular-season champions.
As well as to extend the title race by another day, Burnaby have the opportunity to build on their high-scoring victory last weekend and register some more wins going into the playoffs, as well as look to lock in a semifinal at home.
Burnaby’s playoff chances in the Men’s Division are all-but over, but they will not be going down without a fight against TSS Rovers who go into this game with strong regular-season title ambitions.
Whitecaps going for gold
If the TSS Rovers versus Burnaby result doesn’t already crown them regular-season champions, Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy can guarantee top spot in the Women’s Division with a single point against bottom-side Harbourside FC.
Whitecaps FC Academy still have a shot at the Men’s Division regular-season title, but they’ll need a victory against Harbourside to stay in the hunt as long as possible. On the flip side, Harbourside’s top-four hopes will also receive a big boost if they can beat the Whitecaps.
The previous meetings between these teams this season resulted in a convincing win for Whitecaps’ women’s team, and a five-goal thriller won by Whitecaps in the Men’s Division which could make the rematch very interesting.
Rivers host Unity
Looking to hold on to their Men’s Division playoff spot are fourth-placed Unity FC, who are visiting Kamloops to take on a Rivers FC side with a significantly outside chance of making it to the postseason.
It’s a similar picture for Rivers in the Women’s Division, but with Unity’s playoff place secure. Unity can however continue to fight for a home semifinal and also build momentum going into the postseason.
Unity were victorious against Rivers in both divisions earlier in the season, with the Kamloops’ club failing to score a goal in either matchup. Can they produce a memorable result this weekend and put a dent in Unity’s run to the playoffs?
Altitude conclude their season
Having played less games than any other League1 BC club at this point in the season, TSS Rovers have a busy schedule to end the campaign which includes double games in Matchweek 11.
Their second opponents this week are Altitude FC, who will be playing their final 2024 regular-season match in both divisions on Sunday. It’s the last chance for Altitude to put pressure on playoff-position rivals Burnaby in the Women’s Division, and fellow title contenders in the Men’s Division.
After this, where Altitude finish in the standings will no longer be in their hands, so they will be following along with all the action in the final two matchweeks just like every other fan.
