TSS Rovers take on Harbourside

TSS Rovers FC are back in action this weekend after a bye week, but despite having played fewer games than those around them they are in a prime position to make a charge for the Men’s Division regular-season title.

Fellow silverware contenders Altitude FC and Whitecaps FC Academy played out a 1-1 tie on Wednesday, leaving just one point separating the top four teams – including the Rovers. But a win for Harbourside could also have big repercussions, as they would draw closer to the coveted playoff spots.

It’s not the same picture in the Women’s Division, however, as Rovers and Harbourside occupy the bottom two places in the standings. It’s a crucial game for both teams if they want to start steering away from last place.

Rivers welcome Burnaby

Burnaby FC have been enjoying life in the Women’s Division of late, winning three on the bounce. With Whitecaps FC Academy dropping points for the first time in the division this season, they now have an opportunity to make life even better.

A win for Burnaby at Rivers FC would leave them just three points away from the Whitecaps with equal amounts of matches played, having been 11 points adrift in Matchweek Four. Victory is also important for Rivers if they are to fulfil their playoff hopes, as a three-point haul would move them into even greater contention for the top four – especially given their games in hand on Altitude FC.

Rivers and Burnaby are the bottom two sides in the Men’s Division, but you can still expect goals and drama in this game. They met as recently as last week – a game that saw Burnaby claw back from 3-0 down to win 5-3.
