WEEKend preview
It’s a double matchweek for Altitude and Harbourside, as the games come thick and fast in League1 BC.
Rivers visit Altitude
Altitude FC pulled off some midweek heroics in the Women’s Division this week, coming back from two goals down to tie against Harbourside FC. Avery Tulloch and Jade Mitchell were the scorers in the 70th minute and in added time.
They’ll be looking for even more against Rivers FC, who have the same record as Altitude with two ties from two games.
Altitude’s men’s team did go one better against Harbourside in midweek, winning 2-1 to bag their first three-point haul of the season and bringing them level with Rivers on points in the Men’s Division.
Harbourside host Whitecaps
Harbourside have now won, tied, and lost in their opening three Men’s Division games, and sit three points above the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy who await their first victory of the campaign and sit seventh in the standings.
Their position is poles apart from the Whitecaps Girls Elite team, who have two wins from two and scored 12 goals in the process, conceding just once. They boast the best attack and defence in the division so far.
It will be a tough task for Harbourside’s women who have two points from their first three games this year – but what a victory it would be if they are to achieve it.
TSS Rovers on the road at Unity
It was a mixed weekend for TSS Rovers FC last week – losing to Whitecaps in the Women’s Division but beating the reigning L1BC Men’s Finals champions impressively in the Men’s Division.
Unity FC are also looking for their first win in the Women’s Division and sit just one place, and one point, above the Rovers in the standings.
Meanwhile Unity’s men’s team are unbeaten with four points and currently sit atop the standings. It will be an intriguing matchup between two teams who have already won this season.
