WEEKend preview
As some teams reach the halfway point of their season, points become increasingly important in the race to the playoffs.

TSS Rovers vs Unity
Four points separate these two sides in the Women’s Division heading into this Friday-night encounter, but Rovers need to close that gap if they are to add some pressure to the playoff race.
There were plenty of goals when they met in the Women’s Division last season; Unity won the first meeting 4-0, with Rovers proving a point in their rematch by winning 3-1. There could be plenty more goals in this week’s fixture also as Rovers have conceded the most goals in the division this season, and the only team to score more goals than Unity is Whitecaps FC Academy.
The Men’s Division is a completely different picture with the Rovers currently undefeated at the top of the standings, and Unity not far behind on seven points and occupying the last playoff spot.
Rivers vs Harbourside
Rivers FC and Harbourside FC have one win apiece in the Men’s Division this season, as well as one tie and three losses. They both also sit three points outside the playoff positions, meaning that losing this game could be a major blow to either team in their early top-four hopes.
Making this game even more interesting is the fact that Rivers, the lowest-scoring team in League1 BC this year, are facing a side that has conceded two goals per game on average this season.
This is a bottom-two clash in the Women’s Division with both teams still winless in this campaign. Is this the best opportunity that either one will get to pick up their first three-point haul of the season?
This matchup is also the second leg in the Reid Davidson Charity Shield.
Altitude vs Burnaby
This is the livestreamed matchup for Sunday in League1 BC, with all four teams involved across the two divisions picking up at least one point last weekend.
It’s also a midseason milestone for Altitude FC who will be halfway through their season come full-time whistle in their men’s and women’s matches.
A win for the Altitude women’s team would further close the gap on leaders Whitecaps, and three points in the Men’s Division could see them go top of the standings. Burnaby are at the opposite end of the Men’s Division without a win so far this year, but they do have an opportunity to potentially solidify their women’s playoff position.
