Weekend Preview: Rising up to the challenge
While Altitude and Unity set the pace in the Women’s Division, the young defending champions are keeping tabs on the leaders.

A slim gap at the summit
The battle for first place in the Women’s Division is picking up speed, as both Altitude and Unity have perfect records.
The former currently sit top of the standings with five wins from five, three points ahead of Unity in second, who have only played four matches. They kick off at 12pm, travelling to Vancouver Rise Academy – the defending champions who sit third at this stage with three wins from their six matches in 2025. This match is live on League1 BC’s YouTube channel.
For Unity, they are the final women’s game of the day and host Evolution at 4:30pm. The visitors have struggled for consistency so far with two wins and three losses, so a trip to Unity will be a tough test.
Elsewhere, TSS Rovers can make it two wins on the bounce when they take on Nanaimo United. The hosts enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Burnaby last week, but the away side will be confident after a win and a tie in their last two matches.
There’s a battle at the bottom of the standings when Kamloops United host Burnaby. Both sides have struggled so far in 2025, with Kamloops losing five from five so far, while the visitors have one win from four. A win would be vital for either of these sides.
A point to prove
The recently rebranded Kamloops United will be aiming to show why they are top of the standings when they host Burnaby in the Men’s Division. The home side are unbeaten so far in 2025, winning four of their five matches, but facing the visitors will be no easy task as they sit fourth with seven points from a possible 12.
Kamloops’ closest title challengers, TSS Rovers, are also in action, hosting Nanaimo United. The Rovers have remained within touching distance of the top so far, sitting three points away from first place with three wins. For Nanaimo, they are still waiting for their first win this season after four defeats and a tie.
At 3pm, Altitude are the visiting side against the young Vancouver Whitecaps Academy. The latter have lost five in a row since their opening day victory, so they need a strong performance against a side who are unbeaten in four. This match is live on League1 BC’s YouTube channel.
Unity host fifth-place Evolution in the last game of the day at 7pm, and both sides have two wins already this season.
