Weekly Rewind: lots of goals to celebrate
There were some eye-catching results over the weekend, as the form books start to take shape.

Langley win on the road
In Friday’s Men’s Division action, defending champions TSS Rovers were stunned 3-1 at home by new side Langley United.
TSS did open the scoring through Michael Hennessy, but Langley responded with three quickfire first-half goals; Brody Thomas and a Joel Badger double giving Langley their first win of the season.
It was a similar story in the Women’s Division, with Langley winning 2-1. The away side went 1-0 up through Shanya Dhindsa in the 38th minute, before Claire Ye equalized four minutes later to take the sides into the break level.
With 12 minutes left in the game, substitute Daniela Ramirez scored the winning goal to continue Langley’s perfect start.
Saturday’s stunning scores
The headline from Saturday’s action came from the Women’s Division, when Unity won 6-4 away at defending champions Vancouver Rise Academy to go top of the standings.
The visiting side took the lead after five minutes through Mansha Sidhu before Vancouver’s Bridget Mutipula’s instant equalizer. Unity soared into ascendency with goals from Jenna Baxter, Erin Stewart, and Seina Kashima, before Mutipula completed her brace alongside a Chloe Taylor goal to make it 4-3 at half-time.
Ainsley Ewasiuk and Baxter’s second made it 6-3, ahead of Bianca Patik’s consolation goal for the Rise Academy in stoppage time.
The scoreline was halved in the Men’s Division with Unity winning 3-2. Jordan Low’s first-half brace gave Unity the lead after Angelo Zhu’s early opener for the hosts. Liam MacGowan then equalized on 57 minutes, but Victory Shumbusho scored the winner a minute later.
The other Saturday fixture involved Evolution’s women winning 2-1 away at Kamloops, Ainsley Grether’s opener was cancelled out by goals in the 88th minute and third minute of injury time; Zoe Black and Kiera Scott the scorers.
It was the opposite story in the Men’s Division as Kamloops continued their perfect start to the season, going top of the league with a 3-1 win. Evolution took the lead in the 17th minute thanks to Mateo Brazinha, but Kamloops hit back through Lucas Kirnon a minute before half-time. Goals from Isaac Tate and Ben Finley then secured the three points.
Tale of two Sunday stories
The final game of the matchweek saw the recently rebranded Nanaimo United travel to Altitude.
Only the women’s match had goals, with the home side winning 4-0 after a ruthless four-goal spell. Starting with Ella Sunde in the 51st minute, Kiara Kilbey also scored, in-between Bailey Doerksen’s brace.
The men’s game ended level as both teams remain at the foot of the table with one loss and one tie from each of their two matches in 2025.
