Altitude welcome Harbourside and Rivers

Wednesday, May 8 marked the beginning of the matchweek with Altitude FC facing Harbourside FC in both divisions.

Two goals in the space of five minutes was enough for Altitude’s men’s team to pick up all three points against their opposition; Athos de Siqueira and Carson Buschman-Dormand with the strikes in a 2-1 victory. The men’s side would remain unbeaten in the matchweek as a goalless tie with Rivers on Saturday saw Altitude sit second in the early standings.

A leveler in added time from Altitude’s Jade Mitchell saw the points shared between the hosts and Harbourside in a 2-2 tie in the Women’s Division. Altitude secured another tie days later as Rivers FC came to town; Aurora Hughes-Goyette’s equalizer made it 1-1 in the 86th minute with Altitude displaying a habit of scoring important late goals.

Whitecaps Academy gain maximum points

It was a perfect weekend for Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy as their men’s and women’s sides picked up six points between them.

Riley Ferraro netted twice for the visitors to edge out Harbourside in a nervy 3-2 win; the forward’s second coming in the third minute of added time to seal a last-gasp victory in the Men’s Division.

The Women’s team fared even better against their hosts, with braces from both Kaylee Hunter and Jeneva Hernandez Gray helping the Whitecaps Academy to a rampant 5-0 win.

Unity face TSS Rovers

The Unity teams saw mixed fortunes against TSS Rovers in Matchweek Three.

The Men’s side tasted defeat, as goals from Matteo Polisi and Gurman Sangha made sure Rovers continued their perfect start to the new Men’s Division campaign.

Unity’s women’s team, however, ran riot in a five-star performance at Cloverdale Athletic Park. Bryana Buttar set Unity on their way to a 5-1 success and their first win of the season.
